Tasks That Must Be Done...

The past few days I’ve been heavily distracted by projects that I have to do BEFORE Mary Poppins begins, and even been preoccupied a bit with projects coming AFTER Mary Poppins, so I haven’t had the chance to think about her arrival quite as much as usual since last summer. Fortunately though, my brain can compartmentalize a lot of stuff…

By the way, after I typed that it didn’t sound right so I had to check and make sure compartmentalize was an actual word. It is, and that is how you spell it. I was sure of neither at first.

Anyways, auditions are now (pauses to check calendar) wow, 82 days away! And today on this unusually “quite pleasant for February” day I was at Corn Stock helping out with some house and facilities things and took a moment to look at this space….sure, this is how it looks about seven months out of the year, but every time I stop and look up close at the theatre with the tent down and everything put away, it’s always kinda wild and crazy to think of everything that goes on here in the summers…and this summer especially! Come August, this space will be filled with chimneys, kites, umbrellas, maybe penguins(?) and hopefully lots of people! Looking at it in this state, and thinking about what it WILL look like, wow! Stopping out there today and having this little moment gave me a nice little boost for what’s to come….but yikes we’ve got a lot of work to do before August! Looking forward to having more people join in the fun….starting in about 82 days!

  1. I love Cornstock, and have been going since I was a kid. The first show I recall seeing was One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. So weird to see it without the tent!
